Classroom: Junior Kindergarten
Ms. Katie says, “Edison is such a beautiful center to educate children that is run like a school. The curriculum is challenging and prepares the children well for kindergarten.”
Classroom: Infant A
During high school, Ms. Madison worked with children at Happy Trails Horse Stables as a tour guide. She has also spent numerous years providing in-home care for children ages 6 months to late teens, including those with disabilities.
Ms. Madison was introduced to Edison and was placed into the Early Preschool classroom, and instantly fell in love with the students. "The moment I met these children, I knew this was where I wanted to stay." She now enjoys the infants and gets so excited when a child develops a new skill.
Ms. Chrissy has sent her son here to Edison. She loved it so much she wanted to become a member of our team. She says, "Edison provides a safe place for children and a great atmosphere to work. I enjoy working with children and after sending my own son here for 3 years I knew that I would love the opportunity to work here."
Classroom: Infant B
After enrolling her daughter here at Edison, Ms. Samantha quickly joined our staff. She says, "The atmosphere at Edison is very positive and uplifting. She enjoys working with children. Knowing that she had a part in their developmental process makes here feel great."
Classroom: Toddler A & B (1 year old's)
Classroom: Pre-Kindergarten 4
Ms. Sam has been involved with young children since 2008. Along with working at Edison, she has also taught a dance class for the past ten years with children ages 3 to 16. Additionally, she has been teaching an art class with children ages 5 to 15 for the past 4 years. She says, “My goal is to simply keep getting better; to be a teacher my students will remember, as I remember so many of my wonderful teachers.”
Ms. Sam sees Edison as a “facility that truly cares about the well-being of its students.” She says, “The atmosphere is positive, the building is beautiful, and the staff is a team with endless support.” Working with children has been and interest of Ms. Sam’s since she was a child herself. “I love seeing them grow and knowing I have played a part in that development.”
Since becoming a teacher Ms. Sam says, “I knew it was the perfect choice; I can’t imagine being this happy doing anything else!”
Classroom: Early Preschool B (older 2 year old's)
Aside from being a mother herself, Ms. Allie has always been involved with children. Whether it was simply babysitting or coaching multiple cheerleading squads, she has been passionate about helping children develop and move forward with their fine motor and gross motor skills.
Edison has become the perfect place for Ms. Allie to exemplify her passion. As an adventurous person outside of the classroom, she loves to get her students moving! She says, “I take pride in watching my students fine motor and gross motor skills develop because of their experiences in my classroom.”
"My goals as an educator are to create a learning environment that ensures student success, be flexible in my teaching practices, and develop learning activities that spark the interests of my students." Ms. Morgan strives to create the most positive learning environment so her students can reach their full potential.
Ms. Morgan believes individual growth is encouraged by allowing mistakes, reflecting on and correcting mistakes, and a positive attitude. "It is my priority to help students maintain a positive attitude and develop a love for learnig through success."
Classroom: Early Preschool A (younger 2 year old's)
Ms. Brooks’ passion for childcare derived from her experiences volunteering at her hometown daycare facility. She says, “Although I did not go to school for education, I always knew I wanted to work in a classroom setting.”
“When I first came to Edison, it reminded me of the daycare I both attended as a child and volunteered at as a college student; that is how I knew this was going to be a great place to work,” Ms. Brook explains.
Ms. Brooks’ passion for writing is what drives her to push her students to enhance their fine motor skills. She says, “It is so fulfilling to watch a child exemplify a lesson I have taught them, especially when they will carry that lesson with them forever.”
Ms. Kylah has a large family and has been watching children for a long time. She enjoys playing and learning with children of all ages. She says, "I chose Edison because of my love for children, and being able to first hand watch them grow and learn in an educational environment."
Classroom: Pre-Kindergarten 3
Since becoming a mother herself, Ms. Melissa knew she wanted to teach young children. She says, “I loved everything about watching them grow and wanted to continue to help others do the same.”
After being at Edison for a short time, Ms. Melissa is enjoying her time very much; “I love the classrooms, curriculum, co-workers, and families. It’s a community that is supportive and kind, which is hard to find elsewhere.”
Aside from cooking, reading, and being outside with family, Ms. Melissa is looking forward to continuing her education so she can continue teaching and furthering her career!
Mrs. Dawn Toolan
Classroom: Toddler A (1 year old's)
Ms. Pam has been involved with young children for many years. Coincidentally, she was a TSS worker and frequently visited her client at Edison. She says, “When I first visited Edison, I fell in love with the center and knew I wanted to become a team member.”
Ms. Pam began her career with little ones and has always been interested in the studies of a child's life span. After 20 years of other positions, she is happy to say, “After 20 years, I am happy to have ended up with what I love the most, teaching these little ones.”
Besides traveling, Ms. Pam enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren, which has only grown her passion for working with young ones. “I am so grateful to be a team member here at Edison and honored to be a stepping stone in each child’s growth and development.”
Ms. Morgan's passion for teaching was inspired by her experience as a "big buddy" at the Lakeland Little Tykes Preschool Program. Since then, she "couldn't imagine doing anything else."
Ms. Morgan began her career at Edison in October of 2017. she says, "Edison puts their student first. The relationships I've developed with the staff and parents makes this center feel like home!"
Inspired by her teachers at Lakeland, Ms. Morgan plans to graduate from Penn State and continue the job she loves. She explains, "The hands on experience I have gained here has benefited my education tremendously. Working with these students has been wonderful; I can't wait to be a teacher!"
Classroom: Toddler B (1 year old's)
Ms. Mary enjoys watching children grow and develop. She says, " I chose Edison because of the welcoming and professional environment. The families and staff here are so wonderful to work with. I have two children of my own and I have finally found the perfect place for them to learn and grow as well."
Ms. Melissa entered the education field because of her love for children. “Watching them learn and grow individually is so rewarding,” she says.
Along with teaching, Ms. Melissa and her husband own their own business. They have a family dairy farm where you can find and participate in a corn maze and pumpkin patch!
“Edison is such a great private school that focuses on educating children at such a young age. The atmosphere is professional and the learning environment is academic, fun, and caring.” Ms. Melissa explains about why she chose Edison.
Ms. Alyssa says, “Edison is very devoted to providing a great foundation for each child’s academic career. The staff here at Edison work together to provide a safe and fun learning environment.” She enjoys working with children of all ages.
